As a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, Evolution has partnered with the NHS to design, produce and install perspex safety screens for Northampton General Hospital.
- Screens made at bespoke size
- Extruded aluminium frame used for added stability
- Installed 2 working days after survey
Evolution surveyed Northampton General Hospital on 25th June, and were asked to provide a solution for several reception desks, the first of which was in the radiology department. The staff and patients needed a safety barrier between them to protect them from the possible spread of Covid-19. This would help them meet social distancing rules, while allowing the staff some freedom to perform their duties.
Evolution decided that Perspex screens would solve this issue. Perspex is an ideal material to use, because it has an exceptionally clear finish, so the staff and patients can still interact. It is also available in a range of thicknesses, whilst remaining easy to fabricate and work with.
There are various installation methods for Perspex screens such as brackets, free-standing legs, ceiling cables or simply screwed in. For the main reception desk, an aluminium frame was fitted around the Perspex, as this was the sturdiest solution.
Evolution were back at the hospital just 2 working days later to install the screens. Our fitting staff were able to follow strict social distancing rules and were equipped with all necessary PPE to allow for Covid safe working.
The Final Outcome
The screens are now standing securely in place and we have plans to provide more screens in the coming weeks. Evolution are proud to have worked with the NHS and hope we can continue helping our amazing key workers stay safe.
